No Turning Back

12x9, Mixed Media Collage on Panel

A wave is one of the strongest forces on earth. Sometimes the decisions that we need to make are frightening, perhaps in part because once we make them we can't change our minds. This piece talks about riding the wave—being carried away by the momentum of that initial decision. The octopus was considered by sailors to be a symbol of protection and good luck. They are known to be intelligent, creative, and flexible creatures—qualities that serve us well in situations where momentous, life-altering decisions have been made.
